Sanitary Sewer Rehab Continues

Posted on 16 May 2011 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—The Boone City Council will consider bids for the next phase of the on going sanitary sewer rehabilitation project in Boone. City Engineer Wayne Schwartz had said the next are will be north of the underpass on Linn Street. The work will only involve fixing a bottle neck in the system on Linn Street north of the underpass. Engineers estimated the project to cost nearly $850,000. The apparent low bid is just under $700,000, but the contractor does not have the necessary permits from the DNR. Schwartz will ask the Council for approval pend receipt of the necessary waste water construction permits.
