Quiet Zone

Posted on 05 May 2011 by KWBG

OGDEN, Iowa—The City of Ogden is getting closer to having a quiet zone. The City has been working with the Union Pacific Railroad to establish a quiet zone in the community. This week, Ogden City Administrator Donovan Olson told the Council that traffic counts are currently being taken and a draft study is expected to be available for review within the next week or so. Establishing a quiet zone requires making both vehicle and pedestrian more difficult to navigate. Olson says the idea is to keep costs as low as possible for the city.
