Boone Sanitary Sewer Rehab Changes Focus

Posted on 03 May 2011 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—Wayne Schwartz, Boone City Engineer with Foth Engineering told the Boone City Council this week that the first phases of the sanitary sewer rehab work in Boone has focused on bigger pipe. He says the next phase will hopefully avoid digging up streets and installing bigger pipe. Schwartz says the new focus will be on dealing with the actual problem of storm water getting into the sanitary sewer system. Last month the Council added extra money to the Property Protection Program. Boone Mayor John Slight says work is going to continue. He says the Council wants the work to be more cost effective.
