BOONE, Iowa—The City of Boone is considering an expansion of it’s Southeast Boone Urban Renewal District. It’s one of several districts in the city referred to be some as TIF districts. The proposed expansion will be considered at a public hearing when the Council meets April 4th. City Administrator Luke Nelson says said the expansion to include the north central, north west and west central portions of the city is being considered to make another possible revenue source available for ongoing sanitary sewer work. The Boone City Plan and Zoning Commission recently met and considered the plan and have recommended the Council proceed with the expansion.
