BOONE, Iowa—The Boone Park Commission has refused to accept work on the city’s Senholz Recreational Trail that runs past the Linwood Park Cemetery. The trail was reconstructed last year after being removed due to the on going sanitary sewer rehabilitation project. The work was considered unacceptable and Commission members wanted the job done correctly. The matter recently went to binding arbitration and City Attorney Alan Schroeder told Commission members the contractor has been told to either grind down the imperfections on the whole trail or pay the city $25,000. The contractor for the project, CTI, has until April 4th to make a decision.
