Madrid, Iowa—Boone County Sheriff Ron Fehr says Deputies and Madrid Police Officer responded to an alarm at Van Wall Equipment east of Madrid about 1:00 AM Thursday. Fehr says they discovered a burglary in progress. He says one suspect escaped on the High Trestle Trail, but a second man, 38-year old Jeffrey A. Webb of Polk City was taken into custody. Additional charges include possession of stolen property and possession of burglary tools. Fehr says the suspects used ATVs on the trail to approach the business. One of the recovered ATVs was reportedly stolen in Perry about 2 weeks ago. Fehr says the investigation is continuing.
