Water Meter Replacement Program

Posted on 15 March 2011 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—The Boone City Council’s Utility Committee is expected to recommend the Council allocate more money to continue a regular water meter replacement program. The Committee was presented with a plan to replace residential water meters on a 10 year rotation and larger meters on a 5 year rotation. Staff have been replacing residential meters to take the old telephone service reads out of service. That has been completed. The program to replace meters is estimated to cost $135,000 a year.
