Annexation Proposal

Posted on 02 March 2011 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—City Administrator Luke Nelson says he expects the Boone City Council will receive a proposal in lieu of involuntary annexation at the next City Council meeting. The divisive issue has been driven by an Annexation Study being conducted for the City by Snyder and Associates a contract engineering firm. Nelson says the proposal going to the Council was generated by legal counsel for Industrial Park businesses, including Fareway Stores, Incorporated a mainstay of the Industrial Park. Nelson says the businesses and the City Council have agreed that any proposal be made available for review by the public. The next City Council meeting is Monday, March 7th.
