BOONE, Iowa—The Boone County Zoning Commission is scheduled to meet Monday, February 28th at 7:00 PM in the Boone High School Gym. The location has been moved because of the potential for a very large crowd. In November, a massive crowd gathered in opposition to a proposed amendment dealing with the Conservation Overlay portion of the county zoning code. Since then, a petition with more than 1,200 signatures has been accepted by the Commission, seeking an amendment to the zoning ordinance, eliminating the Conservation Overlay. The Zoning Commission is slated to hold a public hearing on the request during their meeting.
