Park Commission to Raise Funds For Shelters

Posted on 15 February 2011 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—The Boone Park Commission is moving ahead with a plan to begin raising it’s own funds for shelter repair projects. Park Commission President Mike Swarts says the Boone Parks have a real need for a number of improvements and funding from the City is not able to cover all the immediate needs. Swarts proposed starting by selling decals supporting the parks seen here. He says proceeds will be directed to the Boone Parks Foundation and will then be used for fixing and repairing shelters. The Commission is developing a long range plan to lay out work in the future.
