Demolition Just One Option

Posted on 09 February 2011 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—The Boone School Board did take the necessary first steps to demolishing two-vacant elementary school buildings. Dr. Brad Manard says the School Board needed to proceed because of the timing and steps needed to complete demolition. In the meantime, he says the District is still trying to sell one or both of the vacant buildings and continue to get inquiries. Manard says the School Board has indicated something needs to be done this year. It costs an estimated $25,000 each to keep the buildings minimally maintained this winter.
