Water Advisory Lifted

Posted on 17 January 2011 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—A Drinking Water Advisory for Boone residents and customers of the Xenia and Logansport water systems has been lifted. City officials announced that the Advisory was lifted Monday morning after testing showed that the water was safe to drink. The Advisory was put into place last Friday morning because of the work being done to repair broken water mains and the potential for contamination. Boone Water Works calculated that the system lost about 4.5 to 5 million gallons of treated water last week. That is about 3 days of water for all the customers together. Officials say they were never close to not being able to meet the demand for water.
