Drinking Water Advisory

Posted on 15 January 2011 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—The Drinking Water Advisory for the Boone water supply is still in effect. City officials issued the advisory on Friday because of possible contamination that resulted while repairs were being made because of water main breaks. Many have thought there was a ban on using water all together, but the advisory affects only water from the tap that would be used for drinking or cooking. If water from the tap is used for consumption, drinking, cooking , making ice, brushing teeth and so on, it should be boiled for at least one minute then allowed to cool. Water can still be used for other purposes. Many people of opted to get bottled water while the advisory is in effect.
