School Board Moves Toward Demolition

Posted on 12 January 2011 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—The Boone School Board has approved resolutions to begin the process to demolition two vacant buildings. The former Lowell and Bryant Elementary buildings are being targeted for demolition because no one has presented an appropriate plan to make use of the vacated structures. Superintendent Brad Manard says the Board has been insistent that any use would need to complement the neighborhoods and the community. But Manard also reported that new estimates for demolition could easily exceed $600,000.
