BOONE, Iowa—Lois Powers is the Coordinator for Keep Boone County Beautiful, the organization that oversees the award winning Dragoon River Romp. The 5th Annual Romp in mid-September had possibly the worst weather conditions yet, cold and rainy, with early morning strong thunderstorms. Powers says volunteers still showed up, more than a hundred were on the Des Moines River and on it’s shore. She said a lot of summer flood debris was removed, especially tires. Powers was a guest on the KWBG News and Public Affairs Program, Tuned In, Thursday.
