Stormy Weather Doesn’t Stop Romp

Posted on 18 September 2010 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—Isolated thunderstorms and rain plagued the 5th Annual Dragoon River Romp Saturday, but it didn’t stop volunteers from cleaning up a stretch of the Des Moines River in Boone County. Because of high water levels at the Saylorville Reservoir, the clean up was moved upstream from Fraser to the Boone Water Works. In the first four years, some 16-tons of refuse was removed from the river.
