Building Demolition

Posted on 27 July 2010 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—The demolition of three downtown buildings in Boone has passed the half way point. Now three weeks into the project, it’s expected to take another 3-weeks to complete everything. Boone County Landfill Administrator Scott Smith says the debris from the fire damaged buildings at 803 and 805 Story Street was treated as being contaminated by asbestos. He says 418-tons of debris were accepted at the landfill. This week, Anderson Excavating began bringing in the material that could not be salvaged from the Meyers building
