BOONE, Iowa—The downtown view changed dramatically over the weekend as the former Meyers Building was demolished. The building was the third of three properties targeted for demolition following a fatal fire in February 2009. Several hundred people took time to stop and take photos of the work that was taking place. KWBG has also featured photos and some video of the work taking place. Several pieces of the old structure are going to be saved and used for a planned informational kiosk in McHose Park, explaining the reason for a statue of Teddy Roosevelt.
