BOONE, Iowa—The Boone County Board of Supervisors decided to close the historic “Wagon Bridge” west of Logansport to vehicular traffic. However, the Board included the word temporary in their resolution to allow them time to try and come up with a plan to preserve the structure. The Supervisors were greeted by a roomful of residents opposed to closing the bridge. A petition with some 600-signatures opposed to closing the bridge was also presented to the Board. County officials says the bridge sustained substantial damage when it was struck by a tree during spring flooding.
