BOONE, Iowa—The Boone City Building Department Staff has recommended that the City Council change the city’s Zoning Ordinance to allow Small Wind Energy Conversion Systems with the city. The staff also recommended that the City Council revisit the proposed ordinance change in another year. The formal request to change the ordinance was made by Solar FX, an Ames based company. The Small Wind Conversion Systems are actually small, roof mounted wind generators.
