BOONE, Iowa—The Liar’s Club of Des Moines has requested a chance to speak to the Boone City Council about options for operating a bar and dance hall at 1805 Mamie Eisenhower Avenue. The address is the former Venue and according to the City Building Department, will require some minor construction and general clean-up to meet city code. City Build Official Ed Higgins also notes there are parking lot issues. The previous Venue owner filed for bankruptcy last year.
